FREE LESSON 1

BEING READY IS A SUPERPOWER

Being Ready Is a Superpower

Have you ever gotten somewhere fun and realized you forgot something important? Your water bottle? Your jacket? Everyone has! That's why explorers have a secret superpower called BEING READY.

Being ready means your gear is packed, your clothes are right for the weather, and nothing important gets left behind. Look at the picture every explorer treasure laid out neat as can be: warm clothes, orange vest, boots, snacks, water, whistle, and more!

In this course, you'll become a Little Pack Master: dressing like an onion, packing your own adventure bag, and doing the famous door check. Ready? Let's pack!

  • Being ready is an explorer's superpower
  • Ready means packed, dressed right, and nothing forgotten
  • You're going to become a Little Pack Master!

FIELD NOTE · Ask your grown-up about a time THEY forgot something on a trip. What happened? Everyone has a forgetting story!

FREE LESSON 2

DRESS LIKE AN ONION

Dress Like an Onion

Here's the number one dressing secret of all outdoor people: dress like an onion! Onions have layers and so do smart explorers. Layer one: soft comfy clothes next to your skin. Layer two: something warm and fuzzy, like a fleece. Layer three: a jacket that stops wind and rain.

Why layers instead of one giant coat? Because the weather changes its mind all day! Chilly morning? Wear all your layers. Sunny afternoon? Peel one off like an onion. Wind picks up? Put it back on. You're the boss of your own warmth!

Two more magic pieces: a warm hat (your body loses lots of heat through your head!) and good socks wool ones keep toes warm even if they get a little damp. Cotton socks get cold when wet, so save those for home.

  • Dress in layers like an onion: comfy, warm, wind-stopper
  • Peel layers off or put them on as the weather changes
  • A warm hat and wool socks are magic pieces

FIELD NOTE · Do onion practice with your grown-up: lay out your three layers on the bed, put them all on, then peel to your comfy layer. Fast as you can!
